If you're craving Middle Eastern, this is the place to go! The menu is varied and the food delicious...from the smoky baba ganoush to the succulent lamb stew, fresh hindbeh (dandelion green) salad and of course the to die for yellow pea soup....all made without frying anything! Even the delicious Baklava is made without butter or any animal fat. Perfect spot to eat a variety of vegetarian dishes and enjoy the different vegetables, colors and textures of Lebanese food. Great quality at an affordable price! -- Anaya

This is Vincent from New Orleans. My friend Justin and I stopped by your restaurant last week and had some food and talked to the owner, whose name I cannot remember off the top of my head. However, I certainly remember the food and the restaurant itself. I just wanted to write and let you know how much I loved the place - I only wish I lived there so I could visit more often. Justin lives in D.C. and I have a feeling he'll be back! :) Just wanted to say thanks for having such a unique place. -- Vincent

Yazuzu has good, cheap Middle Eastern food and is open till 4 AM on weekends. The helpings are on the large side, the pita is heated up nicely, and the sides are delicious. Food aside, one does feel like they've stepped inside a red and white airplane/Miami club with it's modern white modular furniture and flat screen tvs descending from the ceiling. It's an odd mix, but one that works. -- Aashti Z.

If I was to imagine Middle Eastern "comfort food" it would be the kind of dishes that YaZuZu serves.  The cuisine featured here are Eastern Mediterranean and North African. -- Gayle G.

When you drag yourself into this place at 1am you lose yourself for a moment as your eyes walk down the depths of the red and white spaceship fuselage.  To the usual souls that float down from Adam's Morgan this time of night the middle eastern melodies are very alien.  The lights glow from behind the walls and ceiling, though this is an approximation as the ceiling never seems to meet the walls which never seem to meet the floor...  they all just run together.  The smells bring you to reality. -- Matthew R.

Entering Yazuzu is like entering a mod, red-bellied den. It has the aesthetics of an early 60s dream-come-true, with big, red, plastic-y arching walls and ceiling; bright white, long, narrow tables that cover the length of the room and have little wing-like flaps to lift up to get into the banquette; a full wall of floor-to-ceiling mirror, perfect for checking your teeth after dinner, or dancing with while you're on your cell phone (really, we tried it – photo proof available); a series of flat screens (ok, not so 60s) that hang from the ceiling and show different cable tv channels or various psychedelic images, depending on the time of day/night you're there; and funky, fancy cafeteria-style white trays as dinner plates. The décor was perhaps best described by one BYTer this way: "If Willy Wonka ran the school cafeteria, this is what it would look like." -- BrightestYoungThings

Yazuzu is sure to delight your visual and gustatory senses. Set in a glowing red futuristic space with contrasting white tables, this urban Mediterranean restaurant has Middle Eastern comfort food such as pomegranate glazed beef short ribs, apricot braised lamb shank, dips, salads and panini wraps all priced under $10. Hip yet casual, Yazuzu is a bright light in the Adams Morgan dining area. -- On Tap Magazine
